The Golden Time of Day
First of all, a special salute to the several greats from the entertainment world that transcended over the past few weeks.
We’d love to thank Frankie Beverly, James Earl Jones, Rich Homie Quan, Angela Bofield, and anyone we may have missed, for the gifts and talents they shared with us.
This is our first #GetRightMusc podcast where I kick back with the homie Ben and discuss Yes Today an album by Freelance and talk junk about jazz and other stuff.
The problem with the Flat White Booty podcast…
I screwed up and had the mic switch on the wrong type of mic on the Zoom. I have a dynamic mic but it was switched to a condenser mic. The sound is very low and hardly audible.Β I believe it was a great podcast and still want to share it.Β It probably wouldn’t have been accepted on most platforms because of the background music that I don’t have the rights to.Β I want to share the vibe and the humor in how we get down in the GetRight Spot.Β We were trippin’ hard and having a good discussion about turning other people on to music that you like.
My homie, Ben, played some tracks by a group, Freelance, which he claimed was the next Earth Wind, & Fire.Β You know I had to see/hear what he was talking about.Β I couldn’t hear their future from what he was playing. I lay into him the way a close friend, who’s also an asshole, is supposed to.
To me, you can’t say some group is the next great band like EW&F without backing it up. He was playing some stuff that wasn’t it.Β I think he just wanted to listen to what he wanted to listen to because he should have known I wouldn’t like those tracks.Β In my way, that was the point I wanted to make.
If you trying to turn somebody on to some new music or anything, start with the music you think they would like from your experience with them.
I was talking trash about the music he was playing by Freelance. I compared it to a particular type of booty he should know I wouldn’t be into.Β It was funny to me and that’s how my sense of humor works.Β It was just jokes by elevated people.
Please, Help if you can!
I could use some help. If there is an audio engineer or sound engineer who can extract, fix, improve, or tell me how to make the audio of this recording something people can listen to and enjoy, I will be greatly appreciative.Β The world will know your name if I can help it.Β I have the .wav audio file if you need it.Β I have to look at it as an opportunity for a miracle.
This is a lesson I needed to learn early.Β I have to pay attention to the details and set things up properly.Β I shall do better.Β I hate that this is the product yet I had a good time trying to make it happen.
