Digable Planets: The Prototype of Hip-Hop Re-Presented

Digable Planets is the prototype of what I wished for Hip-Hop.

It didn’t go down that way but it presents the opportunity to present hip-hop the way it could and in my opinion should be. I’m talking about the vibe, flavor, and mentality of a super group being the standard for the expression we call hip-hop.

Part of my vision for re-presenting hip-hop is to seek out artists and music that feels inspired by the creative freedom and courage of Digable Planets.  Not to say I want all hip-hop artists to sound like they are bitin’ their style.  Every artist should be who they be.  However, it would be nice if every artist were as lyrically slick and cool.

That being said, lets Celebrate Digable Planets for doing their thing the way they do.  They sound great on Cadillac Chronicles.  If you find any artists who have their Spirit, Soul, and Groove, point me to them.
